What walls in North York usually need
North York is a rebuild district: 1950s and 1960s bungalows and side-splits in Willowdale, Bayview Village, Don Mills and Downsview being replaced or enlarged by two-storey custom homes, almost all of them in smooth modern stucco with stone, panels and dark frames. The original brick houses in between are candidates for stucco over brick.
- Willowdale and Bayview Village
Custom rebuilds on 50-foot lots. Full stucco exteriors with stone, mouldings and modern details.
- Don Mills and York Mills
Mid-century houses and additions. Stucco over brick and new second storeys finished to match.
- Downsview and Bathurst Manor
Postwar brick bungalows. Front elevations and whole houses in stucco over brick.
- Yonge and Sheppard corridors
Condos and plazas in EIFS. Repairs and sealing around residents and tenants.

What our customers say
North York stucco questions
Can you match the modern smooth look of the new houses on my street?
Yes. A fine sand or smooth finish in a light or dark colour, with dark window trim and a stone or panel accent, is most of what we do in North York.
Do you do the stone and the stucco?
Yes, one crew for both, and the junction between them detailed properly.
Do I need a permit for stucco?
Replacing a finish like for like usually does not need a building permit. Adding insulation board to an existing wall changes the assembly and some municipalities want a permit for that, and heritage districts need approval for exterior changes. We tell you what applies to your house at the site visit.
Can you stucco over my 1960s brick bungalow?
Yes, when the brick is sound. It is one of the best thermal upgrades the house can get.
Is the work insured and warrantied?
Yes. Stucco & Co carries $5 million liability insurance and WSIB coverage, and every job comes with a one-year warranty on our work.
