What walls in Toronto usually need
Toronto has every kind of wall we work on: Victorian semis with bays, postwar bungalows, 1960s brick two-storeys, infill moderns and condos. The job changes street by street, so the site visit matters more here than anywhere.
- Old Toronto and the east end
Victorian and Edwardian semis in Riverdale, Leslieville, the Annex and Cabbagetown. Stucco over old brick, bay windows and heritage rules in the conservation districts.
- Midtown and the west end
1920s to 1950s houses in Davisville, Leaside, the Junction and High Park. Additions in stucco, stone bases and window surrounds.
- Infill and custom builds
New two- and three-storey houses across the city, almost all in smooth modern stucco with dark frames, stone and panels.
- Condos and plazas
Low-rise condos, townhouse complexes and retail strips that need repairs, sealing or a full restoration, worked around residents and tenants.

Permits, access and weather in Toronto
Exterior changes in a designated district or on a listed house need a heritage permit from the city before work starts. We flag it at the visit.
Laneway houses, narrow side yards and permit parking shape how we stage scaffold and deliveries. We sort the street permit for a bin or a lift if one is needed.
Semis and row houses mean a neighbour's wall meets yours. We detail the junction so water runs out, and we talk to the neighbour before scaffold goes up.

What our customers say
Toronto stucco questions
Can you stucco a Victorian semi over the brick?
Yes, when the brick is sound. We check for spalling and pointing first, keep the system above grade and extend the sills. In a heritage district the city has to approve the change.
Do you work downtown?
Yes. Access and parking take planning, and we build that into the schedule and the quote.
Do I need a permit for stucco?
Replacing a finish like for like usually does not need a building permit. Adding insulation board to an existing wall changes the assembly and some municipalities want a permit for that, and heritage districts need approval for exterior changes. We tell you what applies to your house at the site visit.
How soon can you come for a site visit in Toronto?
Usually within a few days. Call or send a photo and Lars will book it.
Is the work insured and warrantied?
Yes. Stucco & Co carries $5 million liability insurance and WSIB coverage, and every job comes with a one-year warranty on our work.
